NEW NEWS: Starting the summer of 2009 we have begun our philanthropic endeavors and you can see them in the star-telegram on Fridays or at the website, www...................
In the summer of 2008 the Greater Arlington Lions Club began working at the Bingo Hall on 303 as a fundraiser Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights. Some history: Back in 2004-2005 was our last season the Greater Arlington Lions volunteered at the Cravens Field concession stands for the Lamar & Martin High School football games! The club's hard work resulted in a great fundraiser that allowed us to buy soccer goals for Lamar, support the music programs at both schools, support the sports programs at all the AISD high schools in some fashion and support our local charitable efforts as well as the good works of Lions International. We want to thank the people of our community for their outstanding support of our club at these concession stands for the past 47 years.
Every school year also gives us the opportunity to provide free eye exams and eye glasses to local students in need at the Lions Club AISD Vision Clinics. The Greater Arlington Lions Club is very proud of our association with the local school nurses who provide invaluable assistance to us in our efforts with the Vision Clinics. Over the years over 2300 AISD students have recieved eye exams and glasses through this effort.
The Greater Arlington Lions Club has also supported the rebuilding effort of the Creative Playground in Arlington. The result of this community effort will be a wonderful a wonderful place for kids and families for years to come.
Join us and become a part of the heart in Arlington. The Greater Arlington Lions proudly serve our local community!
